Hello peeps! It's me the nut again. I'm like a fixature of this blog. A lot of things to share. So paiseh... haha!! Pardon my nonsense.

Anyway, i just like to share some things that i've came across from this book titled 'Winning With People' by John C. Maxwell. It's a pretty inspiring book i would say and i highly recommend that you read if you have the time. It provides insightful and helpful advice on how to be a winner in relationships. If you have the time, head down to the library and grab a copy of the book. :)

Soon, all of us will be heading on to a new journey of our lives. We'll be placed in a new, somewhat intimidating environment and it'll be understandable that we feel lonely and frightened of the exposure. Not to mention, we may be placed in a class of strangers and a kooky eccentric professor, it will add on to our share of loneliness. However, i would like to say that let's endeavour our best not to get intimidated and open ourselves out to others k? All friends begin with strangers anyway. The seven of us were once strangers before when we first entered tj. See how it turns out in the end...

I must be quick to add that although we should open ourselves and relish the new experience of making friends and stuff. There are still things to take note. People come in different packages, sizes, personalities etc. We must of course, make friends wisely. According to Maxwell, people may come in 4 different ways and how we should deal with them.

1) Some people add something to Life-We enjoy them
Evangelist D.L. Moody advised people to "Do all the good you can, to all the people you can, in all the ways you can, as long as ever you can." People who add value to others do so intentionally without asking for things in return. Having people like this as friends is good because it adds zest and value to out lives.

Friendship consists of a willing ear, an understanding heart and a helping hand. ~Author Frank Tyger~

2) Some people Substract Something from Life-We tolerate them
It takes a skilled craftsman much time and energy to build a beautiful chair. It takes no skill whatsoever to smash that chair in a matter of moments.

Personally, the nut thinks that it's inevitable that we'll meet people like this in the course of lives. Have you met or made friends with people who deliberately pass snide remarks just for the sake of passing those hurtful remarks? These sort of people do things to demoralise people unintentionally. They do it because they're feeling insecured themselves. Towards such people, we have to tolerate them and embrace their imperfections. It's not easy because according to Maxwell, "receiving is easy, giving is difficult" which i find it highly resonant. Such people, Maxwell called them 'substracters. They do not bea r the burden of others and sometimes make them heavier.

3) Some people multiply Something in Life-We Value them
People who live to help others succeed and have the skills to help others along the way are called 'multipliers'. Hmm...let me see how i can elucidate that point better...Take for instance, a skilful, humble, wise and altruistic teacher for example. The teacher will be willing to help his pupils and guide them to brighter future. Multiplies are somewhat like this. Multipliers are hard to find and if you do have friends like them who encourage you and lift you to higher grounds, treasure them and do not let them go.

4) Some people divide Something in Life-We avoid them
Dividers=people who take you down low as they can, as often as they can. Unlike substracters, they do so with malice and intentions. They are hurtful people who make themselves look or feel better by trying to make someone else fo worse than they do, They damage relationships and wreak havoc in people's lives.

The nut's advice to you guys is ... to avoid potential confrontations, stay away from such people. Haha!

Yepps! That's about all that i have to say. To prevent possible lawsuit due to infringement of copyright and crap. I would like to give credits to the motivational speaker John C. Maxwell and his book of wisdom. Once again, i wish you guys all the best in the new level of your journey in life. Smile always!

PS: i've decided to go for the bio sci camp. haha! :)
